Little long dogs
Find your forever friend in every little paw
At Little Long Dogs, we specialise in sharing the love of our miniature long haired dachshund puppies, with families looking for loyal and playful companions. We breed quality long-haired dachshunds that adhere strictly to breed standards and practices.
How we care for our puppies
In our breeding program, every dog is treated like family. Our pups are crate and toilet trained, enjoying plenty of playtime indoors and outdoors, while always spending the night indoors for a cozy rest. We understand that a balanced diet goes beyond just kibble, which is why we prioritise premium, human-grade raw meat, along with animal-safe fruits and vegetables. This thoughtful nutrition not only supports their overall health but also keeps their coats shiny and their joints strong. We’re dedicated to raising happy, healthy dogs that will thrive in any loving home.

What is IVDD
Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) affects approximately 1 in 4 dachshunds at some point in their lifetime. It’s important to understand that, contrary to common belief, dachshunds should engage the muscles in their back to help strengthen and support their spine.
As responsible pet owners, we always recommend pet insurance for all dogs. For example, Woolworths Pet Insurance provides coverage for IVDD, offering added protection for your dachshund's health.
While IVDD is not a hereditary condition, dogs with proper conformation are less likely to develop it. This is why it’s crucial to choose a reputable breeder who focuses on sound breeding practices and healthy, well-structured dogs. At Littlelongdogs, we prioritize the health and longevity of our dachshunds, breeding with care to minimize the risk of IVDD.
